I love coffee…good coffee, and there’s a sweet little local roastery and cafe in Gilbert, Arizona called HG (Higher Grounds) Roastery and Cafe. Family owned and operated (and 100% fully funded by family and love) HG is primarily run by Dianna Cameron and her children.
As a child, Dianna would bake at her grandmother’s house any chance she got. She loved baking so much at home that she wanted to pursue it in the workplace. Dianna has been in the food and beverage industry since her early teenage years. She worked at her parent’s small Deli (Just called “Sandwich Shop” in Oregon), in various hotels, restaurants and golf resorts. As Dianna’s children (all three of them) grew older she went back to school and received culinary and restaurant management degrees. Shortly thereafter, HG Roastery & Cafe was born. I stopped in one day for a cup of Brazilian roast and also purchased some for home. To my tastebuds, (everyone is different, I suppose) the coffee is medium-bodied, very low acidity and has a nutty undertone. It’s delicious black or with a touch of cream!
How do you like your coffee?
